In the meantime, learn more about Community Supported Agriculture and the benefits of purchasing a share.
What is a CSA and how does it work through M.M. Meals?
A CSA is an affordable way to have access to organic, fresh produce in exchange for purchasing a share of a farm at the beginning of the growing season. Paying for an entire season of produce upfront allows the farm to purchase new equipment, seeds, and make any necessary change to ensure a good crop. In return, it's shareholders get a weekly delivery of produce that is dropped off at various locations throughout the city and organized by other shareholders. Volunteering at sites reduces the costs of each share and builds a strong sense of community throughout members. Any remaining produce at each site is donated to a local food bank or shelter. A full share is anywhere from $500-$800 for a 24-week season and there are add-on options for meats, cheese, honey, etc.
M.M. Meals serves as the liaison between its clients and the farm to make the process easier for both parties. We directly contact the farm to coordinate your share and get a custom delivery each week for our clients. The one-on-one relationship that we have with the farm allows us to tailor our menu selections for your family based on what they will be delivering that week. You do not have to worry about picking up your share each week or having to clean and break-down the overwhelmingly large amount of produce. Your family receives the perks of freshly picked produce without any of the hassle.
